Ferries from Ullapool to Stornoway and Uig (Skye) to Tarbert

Travel and links

Scarista House lies on the west coast of Harris, part of the beautiful and remote Western Isles of north-west Scotland.

When you plan your journey to Harris, you have two main options:

  • You can take the excellent vehicle ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert (about 1 hour 40 minutes then 25 minutes drive to  us) or from Ullapool on the mainland to Stornoway (about 2 hours 40 minutes then 90 minutes drive to us).

  • Or you can fly to Stornoway from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness and travel by bus or taxi, or hire a car.

You can use the links below to plan your journey in detail (though I'm afraid the BA site is a bit of a nightmare).

Livelier, more entertaining and more fun to use than the STB site. Sorry, but it's true. The link above takes you to the Harris page, but feel free to roam about.
